Chicago real estate, living and neighborhood perspective

Center for Neighborhood Technology

The Center for Neighborhood Technology has been around since 1978 helping to promote urban sustainability.  They were most recently noted in the closing remarks at this week’s Greenbuild 2010 expo by HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan.  I had the opportunity to attend Greenbuild this year, which was held in Chicago at the McCormick Place.

This was a great opportunity to discuss first hand with people from various backgrounds; from manufactures to architects to organizations about new and developing technologies and best practices in the field.  I will further expand about the tremendous amount of information I came across in an upcoming post after I have a chance to sort it all out!

The Center’s office is in Wicker Park – 2125 W North Ave, just west of Damen.  An associate recently took a trip to the CNT and forwarded me a copy of the LEED Platinum Building Renovation that was performed and points awarded.  There is a self guided first floor tour that you can take that is also attached.

Most people will recognice I-GO in the city, a project launched by CNT.
