
With many unemployed or looking for secondary sources of income, the home office has become not only an addition but a necessity in many people’s home. Many of the homes I have viewed are now featuring dens staged as home offices, or built-in tech centers in little nooks around the home. Several hi-rises downtown have sophisticated technology centers, complete with computer, internet, color printers, conference rooms, webcams, and everything else the inspiring entrepreneur or enthusiast could use.
A home office is a great way to add another level of sophistication to your home without a lot of cost. But be warned, with many residents downsizing, is that space better utilized as something else? Not all nooks are great places for a tech centers either, and bad choices can becoming too distracting. Just make sure you have enough outlets for that smart phone, digital camera, external hard drive, bluetooth headset, printer…
